On Monday, January 22, 2025, Prof. Dr. Jasim Mohammed Abdo, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, supervised a strategic meeting with the Technical and Scientific Committee overseeing laboratories. This high-level meeting was held in the presence of the Dean of the College of Science and the Director General of the Scientific Research Centers.
The meeting focused on a comprehensive evaluation of the current laboratory frameworks to ensure their compliance with international standards of academic quality.
Afterwards, a thorough inspection of all laboratory units was carried out, during which operational efficiency and safety protocols for each unit were assessed. A detailed roadmap was developed to identify and address equipment needs. This plan aims to fill technical gaps by providing advanced instruments.
The committee also proposed a robust methodology for managing laboratories, streamlining workflows to better support the developmental needs of the university’s research community.
The primary goal of these improvements is to create a more suitable environment for advanced scientific research and to enhance the capabilities of postgraduate students and research faculty members.
“Modernizing our laboratory infrastructure is not merely a technical upgrade; it is a fundamental investment in the scientific future of our university and the academic community as a whole.”
Through this proactive oversight, the University of Zakho continues to strengthen its position as a hub of scientific excellence, ensuring that its institutions remain at the forefront of innovation and scientific vision.
